Dr. Giacomo Silvagni is a post-doc researcher at University of Bologna (Italy). After his Bachelor and master’s in mechanical engineering at University of Bologna, Giacomo has focused his PhD and the following post-doc activities on studying and testing advanced combustion methodology in a compression ignited engine. Besides that, his activity is focused on development of control-oriented strategies and their implementation on rapid control prototypic platform aimed at improving combustion controllability, engine performance and reducing pollutants. He was also involved in a research project with the University of Alabama as a research aide for the study of cycle-to-cycle variability on dual-fuel heavy-duty engines. Actually, his research activity is manly focused on developing zero-carbon sustainable powertrains and propulsion systems, hydrogen-based energy plants, and sustainable aeronautical and space propulsion systems through experimental and simulation point of view.
