Dr. Simone Di Giacomo
My research activity is aimed at dissecting the molecular mechanisms responsible for neuroectodermical-origineted malignancies progression in childrens, mainly studiyng:
- Multi-proteins complexes in which MYCN oncoprotein is enrolled, and their epigenetic regulation of enhancer and promoter regions of proteins involved in cancer progression;
- Polyamines, a class of essential amines,naturally present in many aliments which turnover is strongly regulated by MYCN in neuroblastoma cells can be regulated through food regiments, flora modulation and new specific drugs.
