Dr. Francesco Guidi received his M.S. degree (summa cum laude) in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy, in 2009, and his joint Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering from both École Polytechnique, Paris, France, and the University of Bologna in 2013.

He is currently a Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), within the Institute of Electronics, Computer, and Telecommunication Engineering (IEIIT), and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna.

In 2018, he was a Visiting Scholar at Stony Brook University, New York, USA, for eight months. From 2015 to 2017, he held a research position funded by an individual European Marie-Curie Fellowship at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), LETI, in Grenoble, France. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Research Fellow at the University of Bologna. In 2014, he worked as a consultant for Datalogic IpTech in Bologna, Italy.

He received the "Vinci" fellowship from the Université Franco-Italienne in 2010, the "CNIT Ideas Award" in 2018, the Best Student Paper Award at the International Conference on UltrawideBand (Paris, France) in 2014, and the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Autonomous Systems (Montreal, Canada) in 2021. In 2022 and 2023, he was recognized as an Exemplary Reviewer for IEEE Communications Letters.

He has chaired workshops and special sessions at ICC'23, ICC'24, ICASSP'23, ICASSP'24, VTC-Spring'22, EUSIPCO'22, VTC-Fall'22, and EUCNC'21. Dr. Guidi is also a reviewer for various journals and projects, including those for the Swedish Research Council.

Additionally, he serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Wireless Communications Letters and IEEE Transactions on Communications and as a Guest Editor for the IEEE Internet of Things Journal and IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems.
