Curriculum Vitae
I work as researcher and assistive technology (AT) advisor at the regional center for assistive technology in Bologna, the largest not-for-profit public AT service in Italy. I have obtained a PhD from Maastricht University, the Netherlands, on research in the field of quality assurance in AT service delivery targeting children with multiple disabilities. I also specialized in health psychology (with a focus on AT and disability) at the University of Bologna.
My research interests lie in the area of applied cognitive technologies, with a view to understand how emerging technologies such as automatic speech recognition, brain-computer interfaces, social robotics, eye-trackers, and eHealth/mHealth solutions can improve the quality of life of people with neurodevelopmental or neurodegenerative disorders.
I’m currently serving as Associate Editor of the journal “RESNA Assistive Technology” and “Disability and Rehabilitation: Assistive Technology”.
