Starting with its Strategic Plan 2022–2027, the University of Bologna strengthened its commitment to developing robust and concrete planning objectives and tools, essential for environmental protection and effective energy resource management. The University sees the ecological transition as one of the key challenges of the coming years and has therefore translated its environmental policies into concrete actions through the University Energy Plan 2024–2030. Bologna is one of the 100 climate-neutral smart cities by 2030, and the University of Bologna plays an active role in achieving this goal.
A shared responsibility
The University directs its decisions towards measurable solutions that can reduce waste and emissions while improving the quality of university spaces. Research, innovation and education support this transformation, both within the University and in its relationship with the local area.
