Organic carbonates are among the most promising green candidates for the replacement of conventional harmful solvents and reagents for the development of innovative intermediates in the pharmaceutical, lubricants and polymers sectors. In particular, they are the most environmentally friendly alternative for carbonylation and alkylation reactions.
