Course contents

Oncolytic viruses coupled to immunotherapy are currently one of the most promising alternatives for some types of malignant tumors for which standard therapies are not very effective.

Knowing this anticancer approach allows the student to broaden his skills on alternative anticancer therapies.

During the course the changes that can be introduced in a virus in order to make it specific for cancer cells will be considered.

Examples of oncolytic viruses encoding genes capable of stimulating the immune response to the tumor will be examined and the intrinsic criticalities of the use of oncolytic therapy will be considered.

The data of the various clinical trials currently underway will also be shown and analyzed.
