Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar the student obtains good knowledge of the Italian grammar and good abilities of oral exposure and writing. The student is able to make appropriate linguistic choices in every kind of communicative situation. The student is be able to understand the academic Italian in realtion to the degree course and to actively participate during the lessons.

Course contents

The seminar is structured in the following activities:

- improvement of Italian grammar and language

- analysis of the academic Italian language through the study of literary texts and essays

- introduction to the reading of main bibliography of the courses in the first year of IS

- production of "professional" writings(curriculum vitae; self-presentation; letter of reference; institutional e-mail; presentation of cultural projects)

- comment and analysis of books, movies, shows and art exhibition

- improvement of the oral exposure for the presentation of projects in cultural area

Teaching methods

Lectures and workshops on different kind of texts.

Discussions about cultural topics.

Assessment methods

Students are required to prepare each week the suggested material, which will be on the Exercise Book (see Readings) or will be distributed during the lessons, so to contribute to class discussion.

Working in a small groups, the students will be asked to prepare a public presentation of the final project according to specific formats.

Teaching tools

Audio and video aids may be used in support of lectures.
