Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit to student will be able: 1) to analyze a range of macro-environmental factors, which impact upon the business and international management of the global fashion industry; 2) an ability to evaluate the cultural and economic dimensions of the fashion industry in a global context; 3) the identification and analysis of key business operation concepts and theories in the fashion industry; 4) an understanding of the main fashion production, retailing, communication and consumption dynamics impacting on the global fashion industry.

Session 2: Fashion/luxury Retail and distribution in a globalized world
Session 3: Managing creativity in global fashion companies
Session 4: Using culture and structure to manage a fashion retail company

Session 6: Fashion companies and the challenges of style
Session 7: The structure of the fashion industry: Developing a corporate strategy

The class is based on traditional lectures and the case method (cases will be distributed in class)
Assessment methods
The assessment of the students will be based on: 1) class participation and presence 2) an individual in-class exam during the last session of the class (2 hour long)
