Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to acquire theoretical knowledge on topics related to the issues of the environment, prevention, legislation and safety of current interest for his profession in preparation for the integrated courses of the following years.

7. "Principles of combustion" "Triangle of fire" and related concepts (fuels, oxidizing agents, primers, ignition energy)
8. "Flammable" and "explosive" "combustible" substances
9. Classification of fires and related extinguishing agents
10. Graph of the evolution of a fire and salient features
11. Effects of fires on humans and the environment
12. Possible “direct and indirect ignition sources"
13. Flammability and explosive limits, concept of effective ignition
14. Notes referring to places with potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX)
15. General concept of protection
16. Concept of "active protection" and "passive protection"
17. Escape routes and routes
18. Lighting in emergency conditions
19. Fire reaction classes
20. Fire-fighting compartments, characteristic bearing and separating structures
21. Fire detection and extinguishing systems
22. Management of fire prevention procedures and emergency plans
23. Special environments (confined spaces, ATEX, work in solitude, at night, etc.)
