Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students know foundamental numerical algorithms and can use software for education and numerical applications.

Course contents

Geogebra, software for mathematics education. Matlab programming language.

Numerical methods for eigenvalues and eigenvectots, numerical derivatives, numerical integration, numerical methods for zeros of functions and numerical onedimensional minimization.

Assessment methods

The oral examination is a discussion of a project chosen among some proposed projects. The oral examination is aimed at evaluating the ability of the student to solve numerical problems on the computer and to critically analyze the obtained results.
