Learning outcomes

The student deepens his knowledge of the philological method and Romance literature of the Middle Ages through the "close reading" of a choice of texts. He/She acquires awareness, even theoretical, of the Alterity and Modernity of Medieval literature.

Course contents

How to tragically kill a woman. Gender-based violence in the Middle Ages.

The course will address the unresolved issue of gender-based violence in some exemplary texts of Medieval Romance Literature.
