29447 - Biometric Systems

Academic Year 2012/2013

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Computer Science and Information Technology (cod. 8030)

Learning outcomes

The course provides the fundamentals of the biometric systems technology and introduces methodologies and techniques for designing and developing automated systems for person identification based on physiological (e.g. fingerprint) and behavioral (e.g. voice) biometric characteristics.

Course contents

-Biometric systems architecture

-Fingerprint recognition techniques

-Face detection and recognition

-Biometric systems based on other characteristics (iris, hand, voice, signature, ear)

-Multi-modal biometric systems

-Performance evaluation techniques

-Biometric systems security
