Learning outcomes

Students will understand to analyse the relation between human groups, landscape, territory and urbanism.

Course contents

1) Geography: an introduction

2) Historical landscape

3) Urban geography and cities

The course is organised in three units. 1)geography as field of study and method.

2) The historical development of Italian landscape and the relation between landscape and geography.

3)  Urban geography studies: historical evolution of cities and towns, city and iconography, centre and periphery, gender and segregation, gentrification, global cities.
