Learning outcomes

The course aims at developing the student's skills to detect and analyse the complex process of democratization, taking as paradigm the case of Western Europe. A special attention is focused on the interaction between the political-institutional dimension. on one side, and the economic dimension as well as the cultural one.

Lessons supported by slides, with discussion of  issues, problems, and examples from events and processes of international politics.

Assessment methods

(for all) Final oral exam. Students who regularly attend the course can take part in a written test at the end of lessons.

Powerpoint slides, articles in international magazines and newspapers on topics of interest.
