87461 - INTERNSHIP I

Academic Year 2018/2019

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Economics (cod. 8408)

Learning outcomes

By spending a period of time in a firm/institution in an internship, the student acquires knowledge of potential post-graduate employment sectors through practical experience and professional skills related to the curriculum

Course contents

Internships are carried out on the basis of an agreement between the University of Bologna and the host structure (company, public body, professional firm etc.) and an internship programme signed by both parties.

Types of internships:

  1. within Unibo: Two types of internship are possible in this case: (i) in laboratories, research centres and admin offices of Unibo, carrying out tasks supporting their activities; (ii) acting as a Research Assistant of a faculty member of LMEC (or of another member of the Department of Economics of the University of Bologna). In this case the internship is called RAship and can be finalized conditionally on a self-arranged agreement with a member of the Department of Economics. This opportunity is particularly interesting for students considering the possibility to apply for a PhD in Economics. At the beginning of each academic year students are provided information about how to signal their interest in carrying out a RAship.

  2. outside Unibo: private companies, public institutions, professional firms etc, either in Italy or abroad. The internship cannot be carried out in a company where the director, executive, manager, busines spartner/associate, or legal representative has family ties to the student applicant (get in touch with the Internship Office for more info about this).
