Learning outcomes

At the end of the course (and the Laboratory), the students will be able to: - understand and analyze the different aspects of the curriculum concept, also in relation to different reference theoretical approaches; - Identifies the different levels of education planning (national curriculum, educational planning and POF, didactic programming) in a school context and be able to analyze the specificities; - Know how to critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a schools POF; - Know the different teaching strategies in the kindergarten and primary school and the relation to pedagogical approaches of individualization and / or customization; - Know the differences between Unit Teaching and Educational Project and know outline, in their different stages, programming and documentation; - Know how to analyze, through appropriate procedures and methodologies for evaluation and self-assessment, the processes and the results of an educational planning.

Course contents

The two course modules are strongly integrated.
The contents:

- curriculum theories;
- legislative debate in Italy;
- analysis of educational and teaching design models;
- assessment functions;
- procedures and assessment phases;
- assessment tools, data analysis, item analysis

A 40-hour of Laboratory is planned

The final grade is the arithmetic mean of three grades:
- module of prof. Guerra
- module of prof. Vannini
- Laboratory

Teaching methods

The course will be developed through frontal lessons, analysis and discussion in a large group of projects and assessment tools, small group work related to the labs.

Active participation in the labs will allow each student to consolidate theoretical learning and to see its concrete implications in the contexts of kindergarten and primary school.

Assessment methods

Written test and open questions, about the readings. The correction criteria and, subsequently, the modalities ratings will always be indicated on the first page of the written tests.
