Learning outcomes

Student at the end of the seminar, know and is able to choose the appropriate instruments to realize a good radiograph of any part of the whole human body.

Course contents

Radiograph, projection and view: definition, contrast, gray-scale, optical density, blackening, magnification, sharpness and distortion of the shape.

Notes on tomography.

Technical purpose anamnesis.

Display on radiograph of anatomic parts: anatomic position, antero-posterior, postero-anterior, lateral, oblique projection and exceptions.

Collimation.

Radiograph characteristics identification.

Radiograph film: structure, latent image, real image and detection process.

Sensitometry: sensitometric curve, contrast, latitude and sensibility.

Characteristics of intensify screens and their use: anti-scatter grids, compensatory filters, collimators and diaphragms.

Instruments for radiation-protection.

Ionization chambers .
