Learning outcomes
Students acquire the basic skills of cultural mediation and dialogue interpreting and they can apply them to real-world situations.
Course contents
The aim of the course is to provide students with necessary theoretical and practical skills for managing intercultural communicative situations in two languages, Italian and Russian. Sight translations from and into Russian, reformulation and memorization exercises will be carried out, as well as role-play activities in which students will face different communicative situations in the field of tourism.
The course also aims to improve students' public speaking and Russian language skills.

Teaching methods
Exercises as sight translation, memorization activities, preparation of glossaries and simulations of real work situations in the field of tourism.
Assessment methods
During the final exam students will be also asked to do a written examination (lexical-grammatical test), to carry out a sight translation from Russian into Italian and to act as an interpreter in a simulation of a communicative situation in the field of tourism.

Audio/videotaped speeches, authentic conference speeches and documentation.
