Learning outcomes
The student is informed about most important advanced manufacturing processes available for shaping materials: laser, EDM, ECM, waterjet, FSW, additive. Sheet forming processes are also described with fundamentals of formability concepts.
Course contents
Process evaluation concepts, cost structure of processes.
Blanking, piercing, fine blanking, oxygen cutting, plasma cutting, laserc cutting, waterjet cutting.
Sheet metal forming: anisotropy, bending, elastic springback, deep drawing, formability, spinning, incremental forming
Hammers and Presses: machines based on energy, stroke. Mechanical presses, screw presses, hydraulic presses.
Advanced machining: EDM, ECM, FSW, USM, LBM, EBM
Laser advanced manufacturing and Additive manufacturing processes
