Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide the tools to evaluate companies and industrial projects. At the end of the course the student is able to: - apply the main company valuation methods, with particular reference to financial and market ones; - analyze the various financial instruments most commonly used in company valuations; - understand the different business strategies and their impact on value.

Course contents

The course illustrates concepts and methods that oversee the evaluation process of a company, even in terms that are immediately useful to those who make this a profession.
Methodological part: theoretical framework, overview of evaluation methods, cost of capital estimation procedures, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF): typical application methods, theoretical and application problems of the use of multiples.
Application part: during the course exercises will be carried out and case studies will be dealt with, also through testimony in the classroom.
