Course contents
Pedagogical Problematism in Educational Practice
The workshop aims to operationally test the main theoretical and methodological approaches to pedagogical problematism in early childhood education settings. Through group work, guided discussions, and analysis of educational situations, students will be challenged to practice problematization, cognitive decentralization, and the comparison of different perspectives, recognizing the complexity and multidimensionality of the educational experience.
Particular attention will be paid to identifying the contradictions that characterize educational action in early childhood services (autonomy and guidance, individualization and socialization, freedom and regulation, individual needs and group needs), in order to develop a critical, anti-dogmatic, and reflective professional posture. Workshop activities will be aimed at promoting the ability to analyze educational problems without resorting to pre-established solutions, instead developing open-ended, contextualized intervention hypotheses based on dialogue between different points of view.
The workshop also aims to foster the development of skills in self-reflection, collaboration, and educational planning, consistent with a conception of education as a continuous search for integration between subject and context, with a view to an education oriented toward critical reasoning, plurality, and the valorization of differences.
Readings/Bibliography
The texts (in Italian and/or English) will be communicated during the workshop.
Teaching methods
The workshop is structured around lectures, individual and small group work, and opportunities for discussion, reflection, and in-depth exploration of the topics covered.
Assessment methods
Students will be assessed as suitable at the end of the workshop based on the work completed during the planned activities (individual work, small group exercises, reflection and discussion) and the learning outcomes (in terms of knowledge and skills acquired as required by the workshop). Therefore, the classroom exercises will be assessed and evaluated by the instructor.
Students with learning disabilities (LD) or disabilities: please contact the relevant University office in advance (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/it). The University Office will advise interested students of any adaptations, which must be submitted to the instructor for approval 15 days in advance, who will assess their suitability in relation to the course's learning objectives.
Teaching tools
Paper and digital materials (articles, audio, video, PowerPoint presentations) to support classroom exercises will also be made available on the Virtual platform (students must register using their university credentials): https://virtuale.unibo.it
