Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the student will understand the general principles of pathophysiology relevant to the interpretive demands of future clinical practice. In particular, knowledge of these principles provides a comprehensive understanding of the underlying causes of organ and system dysfunction, from which both semiological and clinical features arise.

Furthermore, the student will be able to properly manage the clinical approach to the patient regarding the physical examination, demonstrating the ability to independently evaluate various body systems in relation to diagnostic procedures specific to clinical methodology. The integration of clinical pathophysiology and semiotics will enable the student to understand and address the fundamental mechanisms of disease as preparation for the subsequent stages of their degree program.
