Course contents

This workshop is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to recognize and deconstruct gender stereotypes, manage emotions, and promote a culture of consent as fundamental components of preventing and addressing gender-based violence and the cultural norms that sustain it. Drawing on the expertise of professionals working in the prevention of and response to gender-based violence and psychological abuse, the workshop introduces participants to good practices, legal and policy frameworks, guidelines, and theoretical perspectives on violence prevention, trauma-informed approaches, techniques for providing support and active listening, strategies to foster the empowerment and autonomy of people affected by violence, the recognition of secondary victimization, and the promotion of well-being and mental health. Through group discussions and experiential activities, participants will explore methodologies, techniques, and practical approaches for designing and facilitating gender education programmes for children, adolescents, and adults. Participation requires a willingness to engage actively, critically reflect on one's own personal and professional experiences, and experiment with educational practices in a collaborative learning environment.
