Rossella Ghigi is Associate Professor of Sociology and holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professorship (14/C1 – General Sociology). She is Deputy Coordinator of the Bachelor's degree in Social and Cultural Education and Head of the Centre for Gender and Education Studies (CSGE) at the University of Bologna.
She earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Milan, a DEA in Histoire et Civilisations from EHESS in Paris, and a PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento.
She is a member of the PhD board in Sociology and Social Research Methodology at the Universities of Milan and Turin.
She teaches in BA and MA programmes and has published monographs and articles in national and international journals on gender role socialization, body modification practices, feminist theory, intersectional inequalities, and access to reproductive rights.
