Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student: - is able to recognize highly critical situations, triggered by specific psychopathological dynamics, which determine the need for emergency interventions; - is able to recognize the fundamental clinical-psychopathological conditions that can lead to acute episodes; - is able to navigate the various types of emergency interventions depending on the different operational contexts (community, inpatients units, therapeutic communities, etc.); - understands the role and technical-operational specifics of their role compared to other team members in situations that require emergency interventions.
Course contents
History of Italian psychiatry and organization of public mental healthcare services.
Psychopathology
Clinical and treatment aspect of major mental disorders: psychotic disorders, affective disorders, personality disorders.

Assessment methods
The final exam will be written or oral (two open-ended questions), each graded out of fifteen.
The grade will be available online after the exam.
Specifically: two open-ended questions on various course topics, with scores assigned based on the following criteria:
Knowledge of a very limited number of topics covered in the course, analytical skills that emerge only with the teacher's help, limited use of specific terminology → 18-20;
Knowledge of a limited number of topics covered in the course, limited independent analytical skills, reasonable use of specific terminology → 21-24;
Knowledge of a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent critical analysis choices, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;
Essentially comprehensive knowledge of the topics covered in the course, ability to make independent critical analysis and connection choices, full mastery of specific terminology, and ability to argue and self-reflect → 30 and possible honours
