Lorenzo Pelizza

Psychiatrist and Clinical psychologist (in developmental psychology). PhD in Neuroscience and Psichiatry (early intervention) at the Sapienza University of Rome. Assistant professor ("senior researcher") in psychiatry between October 2022 and October 2025.

Since October 2025, academic position as associate professor in psychiatry. My research interests included psychopathological, clinical psychiatry, treatment and outcome in individuals at psychosis onset or at clinical high risk for psychosis treated in public mental healthcare services. I also developed specific interests in the field of Forensic Psychopathology, transitional psychiatry, suicide.

I worked for more than 25 years in different public mental healthcare services (in Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy regions in Northern Italy). I directed departmental units of community adult mental healthcare services and mental healthcare in prison. Since 2016, I am a stable member of the regional team on early intervention in psychosis. In 2024, I drew up the second edition of the regional recommendations for early intervention in psychosis.
