Learning outcomes
To develop knowledge and understanding of the major phases in the history of schooling and educational institutions in Italy and Europe.
Course contents
The course provides an introduction to the history of schooling, examining the origins and development of the school as a complex institution characterized by spaces, temporal structures, teaching tools, material culture, subjects, teachers, pupils, and parents. The course aims to foster historically informed and critical reflection, enabling teachers to develop a deeper awareness of the transformations that have shaped the contemporary Italian school system.
