Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students must have acquired skills that extend and reinforce the operational and research methods specific to nursing and midwifery sciences acquired in the first cycle in relation to the use of computer systems and database management.

Course contents

Introduction to healthcare data

Introduction to operational tools and methods for optimizing daily clinical and organizational practice

Tools for healthcare data management

Spreadsheets (e.g., Excel): from the basics (formatting, formulas, and simple charts) to more advanced functions for data analysis and visualization (pivot tables, advanced charts) to communicate results to managers and patients.

Interactive mode with laboratory exercises (with the possibility of using your own laptop).

Assessment methods

The examination aims to assess the achievement of learning objectives through the application of knowledge and skills related to the study programme.

The examination is written and is graded on a scale of 30.

Final grade scale:

Ability to sufficiently apply the basic functions and concepts of the subject →18-22;

Practical and conceptual ability to apply pivot tables → 23-26;

Ability to apply advanced functions and conceptual understanding → 27-30L
