Course contents
The first part (Prof. Trentini) addresses some issues of the sociology of welfare state with particular reference to Italy. A reconstruction of the genesis of the welfare state and its evolution throughout the 20th century, up to the crisis of the 1970s and more recent transformations will be provided. Alongside the historical analysis, a comparison of models of welfare capitalism and social regulation in different countries is proposed. Some lessons focus on activation and labour policies.
The second part (module 2, Prof. Tagliaventi) will start from continuing education policies and focus on old and new forms of inequality in a lifelong learning system. Special attention will be given to informal education and the environment as a learning context.
