Maria Teresa Tagliaventi is a researcher at the Department of Education Studies since 2004, where she teaches Sociology of education, Welfare state and Social policy. She focuses her research mainly on inequalities and differences in educational processes and the impact of social policies on the well-being of children and families. She is involved in the “National Project for the inclusion of Roma Children/ PON inclusion” promoted by Ministry of Welfare in cooperation with Ministry of Education as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Project.
Actually she is coordinator of RISE – Roma Inclusive School Experiences- an international project funded by the EU Justice and Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program promoted in collaboration with University of Minho (Portugal), RIZ Center Novo mesto (Slovenia) and Istituto degli Innocenti (Italia).
She was member of the Scientific Committee of the National Childhood and Adolescence Documentation and Analysis Centre from 2007 to 2010, named by Ministry of Welfare.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has twice appointed her as a member of National Observatory on Childhood
