Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar students will learn about the problems related to the edition and digital marking (XLM/TEI) of literary texts, with particular attention to the texts and commentary of  Alessandro Manzoni's The Bethroted, and will be able to use them to describe the structural components of a text among those proposed during the exercises: skills necessary for the evolution of philology and publishing in the digital world.

 

Course contents

CONTENTS:

Theoretical part The text: scientific editions, critical editions, digital editions; Manzoni's texts; Collation and revision; XML/TEI marking; PRACTICAL part The identification of paper texts; Collation; The identification of errors; Marking; Validation.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons, php, projections, IOL-integrated materials.

Assessment methods

Upon passing the final test (marking of a Manzonian text/commentary), students will receive a certificate of attendance proving attendance at the Laboratory and the achievement of 6 CFU for Activity F.
