Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student knows the main sociological theories related to the perspective of the sociology of law and functionals to the analysis of the labour market. He is also able to use a specific terminology and to apply sociological competences he has acquired.

Course contents

The course is divided in two parts.

The first part is dedicated to the philosophical and legal theories who were determinants for the perspective of sociology of law, and the main issues concerning this latter. Specific attention will pay to methodology of research in this field of study and the possible applications in labour market and for legal and economic practitioners.

During the second part of the course, sociological aspects usually related with the functioning of italian labour market will be analyzed. Specific attention to issues like:

- uneployment in the variety of its forms;

- women participation to the labour market;

- irregular employment and double employment;

- migrants in the italian labour market, with related issues of migratory flows towards Europe, discriminations and competition with italian workers;

- employment's policy at national and local level, with related issues of encouragement of women's employment and people with disabilities.

Teaching methods

The lessons will be held through frontal classroom with the help of technological supports, seminars of study and encounters of debate upon empirical cases, showing and analysis of originals materials.

Assessment methods

The assessment will be held through an interview.

The final exam is meant to test the students' knowledge of text, their language, reasoning and argumentation skills shown during the interview.

Registration will be only through the informatic system AlmaEsami.

 

For the assignment of the dissertation thesis go to the office hours of Prof. Pellegrini.

Teaching tools

The lessons are integrated by power-point presentations, projection of short videos related to the topics of the course and other materials distributed during the classroom.
