Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will acquire when and where the hunam evolution occurred trhoughout the fossil record and the cultural manifestations of the prehistoric humans.

Course contents

- time and space of the human evolution;

- evolutive models; 

- human skeletal anatomy and comparison with the Primates;

- Bipedalism and cerebral evolution;

- Evolution of the Primates and phases of the human evoltuion; 

- Environments, technology and life style of the prehistoric humans.

Frontal lessons and laboratories and exercitation at the Museum of Anthropology

Assessment methods

The oral examination consist of a test in which the student have to explain the chronological phases of the human evolution, the criteria for recognizing the human fossils, and the cultural aspects related to the evolution of lithic technologies.

Computer projector, PC, laboratory hands-on, visit at the Museum of Anthropology
