For all students

Students enrolled in first cycle, second cycle, and single cycle degree programmes, exchange, PhD, master's degree and specialisation school students can purchase annual public transport passes for the Bologna area, including Zone 3 (which includes Ozzano), at the following subsidised rates, further reduced compared to previously applicable costs:

  • €154 for PhD, master's degree and specialisation school students below 27 years of age
  • €180 for PhD, master's degree and specialisation school students over 27 years of age

For extra-urban passes above Zone 3, there is an overall discount of 30% (see detailed price list per Zone [.pdf 40 KB]). Check which Zone you need

To purchase the annual public transport passes, log in to Studenti Online using your University credentials. Due to technical issues, access for master’s degree students is not yet available. It will soon be possible to access it.

The annual public transport pass can be purchased at any time.

N.B.: if you are a student enrolled in first-cycle, second-cycle or single-cycle degree programmes with an ISEE of €35,000 or less, we advise you to take part in the Alma Mater call for applications, described in the following paragraph, and wait for the outcome of the competition before proceeding to purchase the €154 subsidised rate public transport pass, as there are no refunds possible for amounts already paid.

For students enrolled in first-cycle, second-cycle and single-cycle degree programmes, with an ISEE of €35,000 or less: Alma Mater call for applications - Deadline 10 October 2022

The Alma Mater call for applications is now online, allowing 3,894 students to purchase an annual public transport pass for the Bologna area, including Zone 3, at a cost of €50.

Participation is open to students enrolled in first-cycle, second-cycle and single-cycle degree programmes, with an ISEE of €35,000 or less.

Deadline: 10 October 2022 at 15:00.

Warning. If you take part in the Alma Mater call:

  • Please wait to buy the €154 subsidised rate public transport pass. There are no refunds on amounts already paid. Therefore, before requesting the public transport pass, wait to find out if your application for the Alma Mater competition has been successful.
  • Wait to apply for the bonus for transport ("bonus trasporti"). You can only use the bonus for transport in the month in which it was issued. Therefore, before applying for the bonus for transport, wait to find out if your application for the Alma Mater competition has been successful.

Cost of issuing a new TPER card

The issue of a new microchip card entails a charge of 5 euros, to be paid online when you purchase your public transport pass: the 5 euro fee, in this case, will then be added to the amount you will have to pay.

This applies exclusively to the first issue of a card, i.e. for those who state at the time of purchase that they do not already have a TPER microchip card.

The card is valid for 5 years, during the course of which it can be recharged with new subscriptions (indicating at the time of purchase that you are already in possession of a card and entering its code).

The five-Euro fee is not charged to those who indicate that they are already in possession of a card, even if the card is not rechargeable due to expiry of the 5-year validity or for other technical reasons.

Start Romagna subsidies - Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini

For all students

An agreement with Start Romagna will be in place for discounts on local public transport in the cities of Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini. You will be informed as soon as the agreement is in place.
