Method and system for locating objects

The invention relates to a system and method for locating objects in a short range of environments both indoor and outdoor (eg. logistics, sea shipping, security and surveillance, entertainment, tracking goods and personal, monitoring of sensitive areas, security at work).

Object of the invention are a method and a system able to manage the passive localization of objects present in the same area, through the integration of heterogeneous technologies. It also produces a system with no cable connections between the nodes of the network. The exchange of data between nodes is also sped up.

The main innovative features and functionality of the system described are:

- Integration of collaborative and non-collaborative localization functionality;

- cable-less synchronization to support passive and active localization features;

- cable-less location network;

- self-configuring infrastructure network;

- tight integration between heterogeneous technologies;

- low cost and low complexity technology.
