Immigration and Residence Permit for non-EU Students

On arrival in Italy: how to apply for a residence permit in Ravenna

All non-EU students enrolling in degree programmes or single course units and intending to stay in Italy for more than 90 days must apply for a Residence Permit (permesso di soggiorno) for study purposes.

For general information and application procedure visit the page "On arrival in Italy: residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) for students enrolling in degree programmes or single course units".

If you live or are planning to live in Ravenna and surrounding areas, you can contact Ravenna Campus International Desk to receive information, advice and guidance regarding residence and immigration issues (residence permit, Italian tax code, bank account).

As an international student with non-EU citizenship, you must apply for a residence permit within 8 working days either from your arrival to Italy or from the end of the mandatory self-isolation period (verify entry requirements for your country with the Italian Ministry of Health).

After having completed the matriculation at Ravenna Campus International Desk, you can book an appointment with the Immigration Office of the Municipality of Ravenna that can support you with the application of the residence permit.

The Immigration Office of the Municipality of Ravenna can support you with the application of the residence permit.

Application Procedure:

  • Attach the tax stamp to the first page of the filled out forms and put them in the KIT envelope provided by the Immigration Office, together with the copies of the required documents;
  • Go to the post office with the KIT and your passport, and collect a number at the entrance;
  • Pay the fees for KIT (€30) and the PSE bill (bollettino, €70,46);
