Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student has the ability to apply knowledge and understanding regarding: pathologies of the musculoskeletal system susceptible to physio-kinesitherapeutic treatment, identification of the preventive and rehabilitative needs of the subject through the evaluation of clinical data and characteristics, orthopedic therapeutic methods, planning and execution of the physiotherapy intervention.

Course contents

FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT IN ORTHOPEDIC PHYSIOTHERAPY: anamnesis, data collection, observation, inspection, palpation, pain assessment, joint excursion assessment, muscle strength assessment, sensitivity assessment (if necessary), specific tests for each district.

Identification of the therapeutic objectives and physiotherapy strategies indicated for the achievement of the objectives

PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT AND SPECIFIC EVALUATION in the main orthopedic pathologies of physiotherapeutic interest of upper and lower limbs: proximal humeral fractures, calcific tendinopathy, shoulder arthroplasty, cuff injuries, shoulder instability, elbow pathologies, wrist and hand surgery; femoral and hip replacement fractures, knee replacement, ACL, meniscal injury, ankle and foot injury

Oral examination. The evaluation will also take into account the clinical reasoning ability in the application of the acquired knowledge. In addition, attention will be paid to the appropriate use of medical-scientific terminology and active participation during the lessons.
