Learning outcomes
By the end of the course the student:
• is able to combine methodological expertise and sensible interpretation of real cases;
• can go through the various phases of the statistical analysis of bio-demographic phenomena;
• can use advanced statistical methods;
• is able to present the results of his work both in written and oral form.
Course contents
The course focuses on:
• using R software to import, export, organize and reshape data, to simulate information, and analyze real-world situations;
• using "tidyverse" package suite;
• using R Markdown to produce reports;
• the implementations of many statistical models and procedures used to analyze bio-demographical data;
• case studies.
Teaching methods
Online teaching: live streaming shared screen.
Assessment methods
The student will provide a statistical report on a dataset of their choice and discuss it with the lecturer.
