To promote innovation in biotechnology, the European Patent Office (EPO) is collaborating with the EBI and the SIB to organize information seminars at the request of National Patent Offices, European universities, research institutes and biotechnological associations. An overview of biotechnological database resources (containing biological sequences published in scientific publications and in patents) are presented. The seminar highlights sequence search and comparison tools, as well as sequence filing tools to be published at the EBI or as biological patent sequences at the EPO. Workshops are given on participant's search questions given upon registration.
The seminar will focus in particular on these main topics:
- Microorganisms
- Protein
- Enzymes
- Bioactive compounds sequencing or new sequence for bioactive compounds
SLING Dissemination
SLING dissemination is part of the SLING Project.
The SLING project wants to inform all the European users about the Biotechnology Databases enriched by the SLING Project, as well as the search methods available free of charge. They invite to file your results to the databases and provide you with the best tools to make this easily. They would like to present the Published Scientific Information as well as the Published Patent Information in a comprehensive and user friendly way.
Presentations are tailored according to the experience of users working in Biotechnology in Industry, Research Centres, Universities but interest also Students and people dealing with Industrial Property aspects.
They provide an extensive, high-quality training in the use of the biological databases and services.
