Laurea Magistrale (Second cycle degree/Two year Master - 120 ECTS) in Financial Markets and Institutions

Second cyclegraduates in Financial Markets and Institutions have achieved the learningoutcomes set out in the various learning areas and possess:
- solid knowledge of themathematical and statistical methodologies and instruments, political economicsand business economics;
- the ability to measure andmanage the market risks of all financial instruments, credit and operationalrisks;
- the ability to define the assetallocation of a portfolio, identify appropriateness investment opportunities,and the related risks;
- the ability to supervisecapital budgeting in a company and the choice of forms of funding;
- the ability to understand thelegal, regulatory and supervisory context (for financial intermediaries) inwhich the various activities are performed;
- knowledge of the Englishlanguage to level B2.
These competencies are achievedin the course units laid down in the curriculum, which can be grouped into fourmacro-areas of learning. This first area is Business, providing the maincompetencies of the programme relating to the application of knowledge offinance, markets and financial intermediaries. The second area is Economics,providing the competencies for macroeconomic analyses required to interpret thecontexts in which the profession is practised. The third area is Mathematicsand Statistics, providing the quantitative competencies required to understandand analyse the previous areas. The fourth and final area is Law, providing theinstruments needed to understand and interpret the legal bases of the othercompetencies acquired.
The Second cycle Degree Programmesets out to train a wide range of professional figures, including: FinancialRisk Manager, Asset Manager, Financial Consultant, Financial Analyst, CFO(Chief Financial Officer).
These roles are held incommercial banks (retail and corporate banking) and other financialintermediaries (investment banks, savings management companies, insurancecompanies, securities firms), private businesses (with significant financialmanagement), or as self-employed persons or in public institutions (financialsystem regulatory and supervisory agencies) and private businesses (consultingfirms).
Internships in brokering firms orthe finance departments of medium-large businesses are possible during theprogramme, which ends with the production of an original written dissertation,demonstrating the students' judgement skills and developed under thesupervision of a professor.
