Learning outcomes

Tissue repair and regeneration are of outmost importance in orthopaedics. The possibility to enhance the healing of musculoskeletal tissues by advanced therapies and other biological solutions (cell free therapies) will be described. The economic impact of on the sustainability of healthcare systems will also be addressed. Students will acquire knowledge and basic skills in the field of advanced therapies in orthopaedics and traumatology.

Clinical needs

Pathophysiology of tissue repair of bone and soft tissues

Orthobiology: platelet derivatives, cell therapies, cell derived extracellular vesicles.

Legal issues of advanced therapies.
