Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Second cycle degree programme (LM) in Sciences and Techniques of Sports Activities (cod. 6783)

Learning outcomes

The student will be able to perform advanced assessments for strength, power and muscle architecture, interpreting the results and understanding the mechanisms of recovery following exercise.

Course contents

-Isometric, isokinetic assessments, analysis of the force-time curve, force-velocity profile and force-power curve

-Blood flow restriction, monitoring the saturation of haemoglobin at muscular level

-Power chains and elastic bands for variable resistance exercises

-Recovery following high intensity and high volume resistance exercise

-Weightlifting technique

-Powerlifting technique

-Pre-athletic skills and strategies to improve sprint and change of direction

-Plyometric training and isometric pre-activation

-Isometric training (Hima, Pima, long muscle length, short muscle length)
