Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to: a) Understand the pathophysiology of bone, with particular reference to the effects of age, nutrition, and exercise; and b) Understand the technological approaches for the assessment of bone and joint wellness.
Course contents
Morphology and physiology of skeletal tissues. Reaction of bone and cartilage to acute and chronic injuries. Biochemical markers and imaging of the skeleton. Conservative and surgical therapies. Principles of rehabilitation.
