Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Communication Sciences (cod. 5975)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows how to apply the theories of situated cognition in a relatively unexplored field, that of creativity, applied to different contexts. Starting from the circularity between perception and action, he/she will be able to analyze in depth the relationship between aesthetic experience and creative practice.

Course contents

The ‘Cognition, Action and Contexts’ lab is aimed at testing theories of situated cognition in the relatively unexplored field of creativity being applied to different contexts.

Starting from the circularity between perception and action, we will work on designing experiments that can shed light on the relationship between aesthetic experience and creative practice, in which "beauty" can act as a nudge for sustainable behaviors.

The enjoyment and production of artifacts will be analyzed as an embodied practice, firmly anchored in perception and action.

Students with disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)

Students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders have the right to special adjustments according to their condition, following an assessment by the Service for Students with Disabilities and SLD. Please do not contact the instructor but get in touch with the Service directly to schedule an appointment. It will be the responsibility of the Service to determine the appropriate adjustments. For more information, visit the page: https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students .

It is recommended that students contact the University office in advance. Any proposed adjustments must be submitted at least 15 days in advance for the instructor’s approval, who will evaluate their appropriateness in relation to the learning objectives of the course.
