Course contents
Theoretical part:

Principles of Magnetic Resonance Imaging operation (static magnetic field, radiofrequencies, gradients)

Specific safety regulations in MRI

Description of main equipment and their functions (magnet, coils, cardiac trigger, etc.)

Organization of MRI facilities and patient pathways

Roles and responsibilities of healthcare operators in MRI
Practical part:

Observation and handling of surface and volume coils

Observation and use of accessory instruments (cardiac trigger, respiratory trigger, microphone, multifunction keyboard)

Simulation of patient preparation and positioning procedures
-
Exercises on basic protocols and emergency management in the MRI environment
Guided visit (being organized):

Access to the MRI facilities at AUSL Romagna, to observe the real context and safety measures

Assessment methods
Type of exam:
Written test composed of multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions.
Exam format:

The test includes 22 multiple-choice questions and 3 open-ended questions.

For each multiple-choice question:

+1 point for a correct answer

0 points if the question is left unanswered

For each open-ended question:

+3 points for a correct and complete answer

-1 point for an incorrect answer

0 points if the answer is omitted

The total time allowed for the test is 45 minutes.

No supporting materials (such as textbooks, notes, or electronic devices) are allowed during the exam.

The maximum possible score, with all correct and complete answers, is 30 with honors.

The exam is considered passed with a minimum score of 18/30.
