Learning outcomes

The student acquires an understanding of the dynamics of the healthcare provider–patient relationship, work-related stress, and burnout in the professional context.

Course contents

Healthcare Provider–Patient Relationship: the role of empathy and active listening, communication skills and common communication pitfalls; patients’ emotional reactions.

Work-Related Stress and Burnout: risk factors and prevention strategies.

Group Dynamics and Interprofessional Teamwork: cooperation, conflict management, and the professional role within the healthcare team.

Teaching methods

Teaching involves lectures and practical exercises carried out by students individually or in small groups.

Assessment methods

A written test with 31 forced-choice questions and 3 answer alternatives.

 Presentation of a scientific paper
