Teaching methods
The course is part of the teaching innovation project, combining a hybrid teaching model with integrative digital learning (DDI).
The teaching methods include students’ participation in lectures and computer-lab exercises, as well as autonomous, self-paced in-depth activities based on various types of materials, such as slides, web resources, data sets, scientific articles, infographics and data visualizations, repositories of data and metadata, opinion surveys, and online seminars.
Thanks to the innovative teaching hours, students will learn to rework and connect the content and concepts acquired during lectures and lab sessions. They will also learn to formulate research questions, articulate arguments, and understand the analytical methodologies used in the field of social studies.
Assessment methods
Student learning will be assessed through group presentations based on data analyses conducted with Stata and through a written test.
Teaching tools
Virtuale is the main medium of teaching support. Slides and videos (also in English) will be used. Lectures in computer labs will make use of Microsoft Excel, Stata 17. Hybrid teaching will make use of the Teams platform and Office Online.
