Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students are expected to:

• know the basic theories and techniques in school consultation;
• know methods and techniques to evaluate the processes and outcomes of school consultation;
• be able to design, implement, and evaluate confutation programs in schools;
• be able to use consultation theories and methods to sustain effective teaching/learning processes and promote individuals' and groups' wellbeing in school contexts.

Course contents

Course contents will cover the following topics:

• consultation models in school
• consultation with diverse actors in educational contexts
• evaluation of consultation
• examples of consultation to implement teacher-based and parent-based programs

Assessment methods

The final exam will consist in a written assessment with 3-to-6 open answers. The final evaluation aims to verify the achievement of the course's objectives. Grade 18/30 indicates a sufficient but not exhaustive knowledge of the course topics. Grade 30/30 indicates a proper mastery of the course content with critical reflexion and adequate argumentation. 

Teaching tools

During the lectures, slides and video clips on wide screen will be projected and discussed. The slides will be available to students on the University's web platform Virtuale (specific directions will be given during class and also made available by email).
