Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: knows the historical and cultural contexts of classical antiquity and its Realien in relationship with their tradition. They are able to insert the archaeological heritage in the context of the modern and contemporary tradition and of its multimedia aspects: cinema, visual art, music and other mass communication media.

Course contents

Depthened study of the ways that have preserved and transmitted the classical tradition up to the modern multimedia culture. This implies the use of representative examples.

Frontal lessons with seminars and opportunity for the students to propose personal researchs. Large employment of multimedia supports.

Assessment methods

Oral examination, including the knowledge of 1) subjects treated during the lessons, plus the book Omero mediatico (for attending students): 2) The book Omero mediatico and other two texts to be chosen in the list above (for not attending students). Those  who will show critical ability and acquaintance with interpretative tools will be particularly appreciated. Votes equal to  27, or higher, will be the prize for those who, in addition to owning a good and complete preparation, will appear to be able to express themselves in a correct and appropriate way.
